To advance to the championship game, Cotter won 8-3 over Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) in the semifinals of the 2015 Masters of Curling in Truro, Nova Scotia; and won 8-1 over Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2015 Masters of Curling in Truro, Nova Scotia;
Cotter finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Cotter defeated Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) 8-4, then won 5-4 against Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) and 4-3 against Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB). Cotter went on to lose 6-3 against Jacobs in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Masters of Curling, Cotter take home 65.525 world rankings points along with the $15,500CDN prize, moving up 8 spots the World Ranking Standings into 11th place overall with 256.878 total points. Cotter ranks 8th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 162.928 points earned so far this season.
