Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) lost 7-4 to Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in the Final of the Mercure Perth Masters, held January 7 - 10, 2016 in Perth, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Ulsrud won 4-2 over David Murdoch (Stirling, SCO) in the semifinals of the 2016 Mercure Perth Masters in Perth, Scotland; and won 8-2 over Bruce Mouat (Edinburgh, SCO) in the quarterfinals.
 
Ulsrud finished 4-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ulsrud defeated Ian Parker (Sarnia, ON) 9-4, then won 6-2 against Stuart Taylor (Glasgow, SCO) and 9-7 against Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI). Ulsrud won 5-1 against Tomi Rantamaki (Hyvinkaa, FIN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Mercure Perth Masters, Ulsrud take home 38.011 world rankings points along with the $8,219CDN prize, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 11th place overall with 350.027 total points.
