Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) run at the 2012 Mercure Perth Masters came to an end in the semifinals with a 9-1 loss to Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR). of the 2012 Mercure Perth Masters in Perth, Scotland; Laycock advanced through the quarterfinals with a 6-2 win over Claudio Pescia (St. Gallen, SUI).

Laycock won 7-2 against John Hamilton (Edinburgh, SCO), then won 6-2 against Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.

Laycock earned 13.300 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Mercure Perth Masters.
