Brewster finished 4-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Brewster defeated
Sweden's Hans Nyman 10-4, then won
6-5 against
Lee McCleary (Kinross, SCO) and
10-1 against
Glen Muirhead (Perth, SCO). Brewster won
4-1 against
Sandy Reid (Forfar, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Ramada Perth Masters Championship title, Brewster earned
13.300 world rankings points along with the $8,322CDN first prize cheque. For week of the event schedule, Brewster did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the
World Ranking Standings with
