Shannon Kleibrink (Calgary, AB) lost 8-7 to Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the Red Deer Curling Classic, held November 6 - 9, 2009 in Red Deer, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Kleibrink won 6-3 over Chelsea Carey (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2009 Red Deer Curling Classic in Red Deer, Alberta; and won 7-5 over Marla Mallett (Vancouver, BC) in the quarterfinals.
 
Kleibrink finished 5-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kleibrink lost 6-4 to Bobbie Sauder (Edmonton, AB), then responded with a 10-1 win over Paula Knight (Edmonton, AB). Kleibrink won 6-4 against British Columbia's Adina Tasaka, then won 7-0 against Tiffany Game (Edmonton, AB). Kleibrink went on to lose 5-4 against Scotland's Eve Muirhead. Kleibrink responded with a 7-4 win over Krista Crowther (Calgary, AB). Kleibrink won 4-3 against Kelley Law (New Westminster, CAN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Red Deer Curling Classic, Kleibrink take home 19.100 world rankings points along with the $6,000CDN prize. For week of the event schedule, Kleibrink did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Kleibrink ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
