Grand Slam Event

Congratulations to Team Homan on winning the Pinty's Cup. The funds will probably come in handy. Also, I'm wondering if Joselyn Peterman is saying to herself "what have I done". Team Jones seems to be struggling the last few games.

I think there's lots of internal finger-pointing going on in Jones-ville . . . . frankly, other than Dawn none of these ladies have had the greatest of years.

Jones, at 45 has morphed into an imprecise and overly apologetic performer, rarely producing the big shots that got her named the greatest skip ever. . . . also far too hyper-aggressive for her team's average rock placement.

Kaitlyn Lawes had a real regress this year - perhaps her worst year since climbing aboard the last train to Jonesville.

Peterman has been OK, nothing spectacular - - - a bit nervous about her new environs and replacing a legendary lady in Jill Officer.

If you combined two of the top 3 manitoba teams you might come up with a super team who could eventually compete with the monsters of women's curling. The idea -

Kaitlyn Lawes - Skip
S. Birchard - 3rd
J. Officer or Meilleur - 2nd
Dawn or Peterman - lead

I really don't think either Einarson or Sweeting are natural skips, at least not now!

I know I'm putting a ton of faith in Kaitlyn Lawes but she's been on the top or around the top for nearly a decade. Time to make her play. She might never be as good a last rock shooter as Jones, Schmirler or Homan but how long do you wait to try?

Not sure that this will ever happen, but would Jones ever consider moving down and while still calling the game, let Kaitlyn throw last rock? Or is her ego too big for this?

That Einerson team sure looked off all week. Didn’t seem happy when they won. Should be announcing their breakup in a couple days.

Congratulations Team Einerson!
That look of focus and great play resulted in a great game.
Even Kevin Martin commented on what a fun game it was. No boredom in the booth.
