Vernon Junior Cash Spiel
http://www.curlbc.ca/vernon-puts-wc...nior-cashspiel/
Junior curlers will get the chance to play like the country’s top curlers if they take part in a junior cashspiel in Vernon in November.
The event, which is being organized by Brier regular Jim Cotter, will take place at the Vernon Curling Club from November 14-16.
A cash purse of $10,000 will be available to the players.
The event will be run like a provincial/national event with a draw to button to help determine tie-breakers. World Curling Tour Slam Event rules for tie breakers will be used, which means no team will be eliminated on tie-breakers unless we get into a 1-3 type scenario then teams can be eliminated with a sub-500 records. Teams with 500 or better record will either go directly into playoffs with the top draw to the button or a tie breaker game will be required.
Organizer Jim Cotter said the event will ideally have 12 girls and 12 boys teams, with a maximum of 24 entries. Eight teams have already signed up.
Games will be played over eight ends and there will be team goodie bags.
