Last weekend the Ontario Parasport Winter games were held in Brantford ON. Curling was held a the Brantford Golf and Country Club with 6 wheelchair teams and 4 blind teams competing for gold, silver and bronze medals. It was a very successful weekend. I would like to offer my thanks to the organizing committee and all the volunteers for their hard work and caring attention they paid to our athletes. Everyone we met was very accommodating and friendly. Every aspect of the event ran smoothly. A special shoutout to Jennifer Ferris who oversaw the organization of the curling event. It is the first time Visually Impaired curlers have been included in these games. I know that the curlers of the 4 teams involved thoroughly enjoyed the weekend. Jennifer ensured that the event was first class and professionally run. Great job, Jennifer. I'd also like to thank the 4 OCA officials who worked every game of the entire weekend. They ensured that games stayed on time, assisted with scoring, performed measurements and assisted the players with any rules interpretations. Thanks to all for making this a memorable weekend for our curlers.
