With some teams playing well early and others struggling, it does shake up the rankings pretty quickly too.

Nothing nefarious in either the Masters or Autumn Gold seeding.

In my blurb dated October 16th I listed all of the teams that Homan and Jones defeated on their path to the QF's using the OOM rankings in Week 8. On this basis Jones defeated 5 teams who had an OOM rating totalling 385. Homan defeated 5 teams who had an OOM rating totalling 175. In effect it was 125.1% more difficult for Homan to reach the QF's.

I also referred back to the OOM rankings for all the players involved using using the Week 1 rankings. On that basis Jones defeated teams who had an OOM totalling 439 while Homan defeated teams who had an OOM totalling 195. Using this data it was 125.7% more difficult for Homan to reach the playoffs.

So if the "shake up" in the OOM rankings during this 8 week period had virtually no impact, what did cause the lopsided and unbalanced draw?

It seems rather obvious to me that the problem began back on September 1 when the "drawmaster" attempted to create the draw using Week 1 OOM rankings. For some reason a seriously flawed, unbalanced draw was created, as demonstrated by the numbers above, and for reasons unknown it was never corrected. But clearly it should have been corrected, something that could have been done in less than 10 minutes.

I follow what you're saying but with the new points system this year it makes it more difficult to get the draw correct. With the 2 year total being reduced every 2 weeks for the second year by 10%, and the necessity to try and make the draw early enough for travel arrangements, it's much harder to make the draws equal. However, saying that, if you follow the draws, how and why is it possible to have all the teams on one side of the draw drop down to the SAME SIDE. Again I ask that a set draw be made up for all draws that makes it equal for all, whether in Toronto or Basel. Once you lose a game, drop to next B or C etc based on the EXACT SAME DRAW SCHEDULE WORLDWIDE, not at the whim of the local spiel. WAAAAAAY too many times the locals or even so-called draw experts, have no idea how to make a draw EVEN. WCT or CCA should have rules to follow based on X amount of teams vs X amount of draws. EG 24 team triple knockout draw should be exactly the same in Calgary or Toronto or Glasgow. Set the draw based on the standings, and then follow the EXACT same draw drop down schedule to get the qualifiers. Right now there are 50 different interpretations of how to get to 8 qualifiers. Set the draw in stone based on how many teams and where they are ranked. Make it the same worldwide. Gerry, get on this.

And then to purposely take 3 extra breaks on the last rock thrown so EVERYONE is watching...... and you missed. Memories of the Scotties in Charlottetown when she raised her arms in the air after the big last shot vs Holland from SK thinking she made it after waiting for ALL the cameras to be on her..... and she lost. Fitting.

Back from China yada yada yada. You're good, but there's 10-15 teams that WILL beat you on a regular basis.

Go Homan. Go young Jones.

Too soon? No.

Don't know if they believe that China trip, 22,000 km, 30-36 hours return, just before the Masters was worthwhile or not.

But I'd bet nobody over there actually fell for that "Are You Watching Me Now" routine.
