Jia Liang Zang (Harbin, CHN) finished 2-4 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Zang lost 4-2 to Steffen Walstad (Oppdal, NOR), droppimg another game, 6-5 to Rich Ruohonen (Chaska, USA) where Zang responded with a 7-2 win over Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Zang went on to lose 7-3 against Walstad. Zang responded with a 5-3 win over Ruohonen. Zang went on to lose 6-4 against Edin in their final qualifying round match.

Zang earned 6.307 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 6 spots the World Ranking Standings into 66th place overall with 54.964 total points. Zang ranks 48th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 6.307 points earned so far this season.
