18-0 game

BC playdowns had a 18-0 5 end game with a 5 ender and steals of 6 and 4. This has to be a record whitewash in a high end competition game.

Depends on what you mean by "high end competition".

2019 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship had 18-0 (Italy vs Nigeria, Canada vs Ukraine) and 20-0 (Czech Republic vs Nigeria). And this is mixed doubles, i.e. max score in an end is 6, not 8.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_...ng_Championship

This was the last open season WMDCC event, with 48 teams competing.

If you're talking about WCF rules, you must first play the minimum required number of ends. This takes priority over arithmetic elimination. So yes, WCF requires you to keep playing even though you don't have enough rocks to even tie the game.

For mixed doubles, minimum required number of ends is 6.

the appropriate rules for this Alberta championship can be found on the Curling Alberta website. Nothing to do with WCF

Actually maybe the CurlBC site as this happened at the BC mens…so a minimum of 5 ends had to be played.

Looking at the linescore they should have shook after 3. There’s no tv or online viewing rights so it should be just like rec league night. Having a bad night early, shake and go get a drink. We’ve all had those nights. No need to prolong the inevitable

I just found out that KOR (Kim Eun-jung) beat Qatar 30-0 in 6 ends at 2016 Pacific Asia Curling Championships! The 8-ender in the first end helped!
