Skips throwing with non-dominant hand

Satsuki Fujisawa is left-handed (watch her sign the card after the match) but throws rocks right-handed. How uncommon is this in curling?

Seems to be a Japanese thing in sports in general. Tennis player Kimiko Date was left-handed but hit right-handed, figure skater Satoko Miyahara is left-handed but jumps off of her left foot...

Does not seem that unusual

I do everything right handed (writing, golfing, tennis, etc.) except throwing (Curling rocks, balls, frisbys, whatever). I also worked for 30 years with someone who was exactly the opposite.

Thinking about it, In the few times I ever tried shooting I fire pistol right handed and rifle left. Don't know what that says about my ability to aim.

Do you use the same eye to line up the sights when firing a pistol and a rifle? I know nothing about firearms, so forgive me if this is a dumb question.

In a recent England team there were five bowlers who bowled (threw) right handed, four of them batted left.

Apparently mixed-handedness is in anywhere from 6% up to 35% of the population by some definitions.

Rifle and Pistol

Strangely I use a different eye for each. Never thought about it before. Probably why I can't hit anything with a pistol.

Interesting. I wouldn't have expected him to write in the first person.

Maybe Canadians should stop worrying about how they pick their teams and just write inspirational messages on their hands instead.
