Yup. They might as well hit the mute button when anyone's playing.

ALL HER FAULT
Yeah, she snaked her teammates for the cameras. Her front end couldn't even hear her complaining, so she was doing it just to save face for TV. A good leader would go talk to them between ends or at least say something when they were around to hear it.
It was almost as inexcusable as TSN NOT SWITCHING GAMES! It's 9-3, and the leading team has hammer. What are we waiting for?

Yes Russ loves Homan...NS needs to start helping their skip.
Whenever I hear the "but it's not the real national championship" and then the whine about the weakness of certain curling areas, from the serious curling crowd, I look at events like today's NU upset and know that is exactly what it is.
Provincial and Territorial pride.
A great show for viewers.
And anything can happen.
That's what a national championship is!
All you whiners....
There is a certain craw where you can shove your opinion.
It's not mine.
I wish TSN would cut away from this (sad to say) brutal SK/MB game.
Put it to sleep.
NS/WC looks interesting.

And one other thing totally not with any connection to the game.
Not trying to be a smart ass.
Not making fun of anyone or anything other than my own reaction.
Observation.
I have read enough blueprints in my life that when I see WC on the scoreboard my brain relays "Water closet."
But I suppose with Purex and Cashmere as the major sponsor...

Thanks for that post. It's probably the shrieking that gets me down, not the screaming so much. When these ladies are interviewed they always say "we're just out there to have fun". Hmmm.

Just watched and thoroughly enjoyed our men’s juniors game in Russia. The best part was the absence of the constant babel of Vic and Russ, mostly crap totally irrelevant to the game, such as who made a certain shot in Rivers back in 1997 etc. I suppose some are impressed with their implied superb knowledge of game and memory.
The commenters , very knowledgeable with olympic and world championship experience, kept it simple and pertinent to the game only. Allowed me to focus and concentrate on the basic curling which I hadn’t experienced given how our commentators talk non stop , taking away from the basic game.

Have you not heard the Sask team? They have a voice on them.
But really, its the mics picking up everything (yet nobody complains about the men's voices). If anything the commentators are louder than everyone. I too prefer the quieter WCF announcers.

Men don't screech. Big diff between a soprano screech and a bass yell.

Ridiculous last rock call by Eddy. No one sits in the hack with 50 seconds left and changes the original call. Maybe a reason for a 20 yr span in returning to the Scotties.

Could be a 4 or 3 way tie for the last 2 spots in Pool A. Will there be tiebreakers or does it come down to who beat who with draw to the button totals as tiebreakers?

Stop the hate. Eddy is not a skip. She was asked to skip the Nunavut team, and I think we can all agree that this year's team, much to many people's surprise, has been performing quite strong.

Looking at the replay, I think the original shot call is much tougher than a simple draw. The rub off the other rock has to be pretty perfect in order to redirect onto the shot stone. I think they were a real longshot to win at that point.

So do NS and BC play again - in a tiebreaker to gain access to the Championship pool?

What a mess if Alberta and New Brunswick win tonight. “No Cheering in the Press Box” rule is put to the test when reporters are faced with multiple tie-breakers! 😆

"It's probably the shrieking that gets me down." Albetts
Not only is she the loudest out there, she's the only skip who can shriek Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! in five seconds OR Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! in six seconds flat.
Don't believe me? Check it out with your stopwatch next time. In any case, best to keep your mute button handy.

Once again, here is SK needing to score two (down 3-2 in the 10th), and they have ignored their own corner guard. Now they need to cobble together a two in the four foot, which is always tricky. Interesting 10th end, though, against NO. Good drama.

i may complain about russ and cheryl a lot but i will agree with them on one thing:. communication on this saskatchewan team sucks. thevenot and and hunkin quite often leave lawton and silvernagle guessing about what the weight is.

there are a handful of teams out there that will ignore center line and use the corner guards.homan, bottcher and mouat will all actually use their corner guards . like i said i think there's just this belief that you have to get to center first

I think the real issue is that they aren't good at judging the weight. The good teams always seem to nail the sweeping (Jones/Homan).

Saskatchewan..
Why not do it the hard way?
Slogan for Sk new licence plates.
Hopefully we'll be able to read it (and weep) at night.
