Power Outage at the Shorty

Calissa Daly (left) and Danielle Inglis (photo: Team Inglis) snapped selfies on Thursday afternoon in the Cornwall Curling Club.

Lights went out during the 11 am draw as teams were starting the second half of play at the AMJ Campbell Shorty Jenkins Classic.

Outages in the area around the club in Cornwall, Ontario were reporting outages, with the club being affected.

Play resumed after a short break, with the 2 pm draw going on about an about behind schedule.

Inglis won won 7-6 over Scotland's Rebecca Morrison to improve to 2-0 in the competition, after winning 5-3 over Cornwall's Jennifer Harvey in Wednesday's second draw.

Kira Brunton and Cassandra de Groot round out the Ottawa-based foursome, playing this season with a target on their backs after winning their first Ontario Scotties title last January.

Inglis faces Switzerland's Corrie Huerliman next on Friday at 8 am Eastern Time (ET), with a second game to follow at 2 pm. Inglis finishes up their schedule with a feature game on COGECO's YourTV network across Ontario on Saturday at 2 pm.

Kudos to the great work by the ice team getting things going again.
