Homan opens season at 'The Shorty'

Ottawa's Rachel Homan (photo: Curling Canada) hits the ice this weekend in Cornwall at the AMJ Campbel Shorty Jenkins Classic.

Homan, with Tracy Fleury at third, Emma Miskew at second and Sarah Wilkes enter their third season together following a dominant 2023/24 season that saw them capture the World Curling Championship.

Homan posted an impressive 67-7 record on the season, winning the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the Pointsbet Invitational, two Grand Slam events and two additional Tour events.

Homan opens play on tonight against Rebecca Morrison of Scotland, a game that can be watched across the COGECO television network. COGECO will be producing two games per day available to watch.

Accessing the streaming of other sheets will be available through the CurlingZone scoreboard by clicking on the red play buttons.

Homan continues to play Thursday with two games, facing Cornwall's Jennifer Harvey at 11 am ET and then taking on Montreal's Laurie St-Georges at 5 pm.

Homan plays once on Friday, facing Switzerland's Corrie Huerlimann at 5 pm, then finishes their round-robin on Saturday at 2 pm against Ottawa's Danielle Inglis.

Homan's game against Inglis will also be available on the COGECO television network.

Women's quarterfinals begin Saturday evening, with the top-seeded team through the round-robin receiving a direct bye into the semifinals.
