Alberta's Top-Ranked Scheidegger Playing Leduc
![]() Lethbridge's Casey Scheidegger (photo: Anil Mungal, GSOC) comes into Leduc Major following a semifinal finish at the Saville Shoot-out last weekend. Scheidegger debuted their new lineup in a deep field, dropping a 6-4 decision to Rachel Homan after reaching the final four, finishing with a 5-2 record. Scheidegger opens play at the Curling Stadium Alberta Curling Series Major, presented by Co-op, against Vancouver's Clancy Grandy. The game will be presented on CBC Gem at 10 am Mountain Time. It will also be available on all CurlingZone social media channels, and will feature Coach Joan McCusker on commentary. Grandy won 5-2 over Kristie Moore of Sexsmith on Thursday evening to open play, with Scheidegger among two teams receiving byes in the 14-team Triple knockout event. Scheidegger ranks #14th on the World Curling Federation World Team Rankings, putting them 6th overall in Canada and as the top ranked Alberta team on Tour. Korean's Eun ji Gim is 9th overall and the top-seed in this weekend's tournament. |
