Team Cameron to Part Ways for Next Quad

Manitoba's Kate Cameron (Photo: Curling Canada) announced on Monday that the team will look different for the new Olympic quadrennial.

By Connor Simms,

Team Cameron consists of skip Kate Cameron, third Briane Harris and the front end of Taylor McDonald and Mackenzie Elias. They currently sit at #35 in the world and #13 in Canada.

This past quadrennial consisted of a bunch of new things for this squad. Kate decided to take the jump to the skipping position while Briane Harris moved from the lead position to third.

In this quad, the team accomplished goals of making the Olympic Trials as well as a third-place finish at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

In the statement from the team, "After a very busy season, Team Cameron would like to announce that we will be parting ways at the conclusion of this curling season. "

Finishing the season with a 30-28 record, Team Cameron had better hopes for how the season would turn out. They said, "We were lucky enough to add Briane Harris this past season to push for our Olympic dreams. Although the season didn’t receive the results we hoped for, we remain great friends and will forever be cheering each other on in whatever is next. "

They added Briane this season after the departure of Brianna Cullen last season. While Kate, Taylor and Mackenzie been together for the whole quadrennial.

This season, their best finish was second place at the Icebreaker Challenge and the MCT Tour event.

What's next for Team Cameron is still to be determined, but we wish them the best of luck in finding a good fit.
