Jacobs 2-0 at Pan Continental Championships
![]() Brad Jacobs (photo: Curling Canada) is sporting Team Canada gear for the first time this season as he competes with his team at the 2025 United States Steel Pan Continental Curling Championships in Virginia, Minnesota. By Meredith McCullum With a 10-4 win over China and an 8-3 win over the Philippines, Jacobs' squad is off to a 2-0 start, representing Canada at the 2025 Pan Continental Curling Championships. Last season saw tremendous success for Brad Jacobs alongside vice-skip Marc Kennedy, second Brett Gallant and lead Ben Hebert. The Calgary, Alta. based team qualified for playoffs in all five Grand Slams, finishing as runners up twice. In March, Jacobs won his first Brier since 2013 and went on to claim the bronze medal at Worlds in Moose Jaw, losing to the eventual champion Bruce Mouat of Scotland. Jacobs rink is one of eight teams qualified for the 2025 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials, to be held Nov. 22-30 in Halifax, N.S. They earned their berth by finishing as the top-ranked team on the Canadian Team Ranking System (CTRS) for the 2023-2024 period. Team Jacobs entered the 2025-26 season ranked #3 in the world. There is a tremendous amount of Olympic experience between these four curlers. Jacobs himself won gold at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi. He finished second at the 2021 Olympic Trials, losing to Brett Gallant who was playing with Brad Gushue at the time. In March 2022, Jacobs decided to step back from competitive curling to focus on his family. The break would be short lived, however, as he made his return in 2023, joining Reid Carruthers squad, and then formed this new Team Jacobs in the 2024-25 season. Kennedy and Hebert won gold at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver under skip Kevin Martin and represented Canada again at the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang where they finished 4th. Gallant made his Olympic debut later than his teammates, earning a bronze medal for Canada at the most recent Games in Beijing with Team Gushue. Kennedy was the team's alternate for the week. Gallant already secured his place at the 2026 Olympics in Cortina, Italy when he won the Canadian Mixed Doubles Trials with Jocelyn Peterman, his teammate and wife. So far this season, Team Jacobs has played one Grand Slam event where they lost to eventual winner Matt Dunstone in the semifinal. They passed on the Tour Challenge, GSOC's second event, in order to train for the Pan Continental Championships. Jacobs next game in the Pan Continental Championships is Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. Central Time (CT). Playoffs begin Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. CT.
