Kruger Products has been a steadfast supporter of women's curling in Canada, serving as the title sponsor for the Scotties Tournament of Hearts - the national women's curling championship - since 1982. This partnership stands as one of the longest-running sponsorships in Canadian women's sports. However, in recent years, there have been changes at the provincial level. In April 2024, CurlManitoba announced that Kruger Products would no longer sponsor its women's curling championship. Instead, a new sponsor was introduced for the Manitoba Women's Championship, with Rocky Mountain Equipment (RME) taking the title of a newly branded event, named the Women of the Rings. In Saskatchewan, it's now the Viterra Prairie Pinnacle. Most provinces went with a more standard Women's Curling Championship name. While specific reasons for Kruger Products' decision to end their sponsorship of the provincial championships have not been publicly detailed, such changes are often influenced by various factors, including shifts in marketing strategies, budget reallocations, or a focus on national-level events. It's important to note that despite these changes at the provincial level, Kruger Products continues its commitment to the national Scotties Tournament of Hearts. The 2025 edition of the tournament is scheduled to take place in Thunder Bay, Ontario, marking the 44th consecutive year of Kruger Products' sponsorship. Two Territorial representatives have been named, with Julia Weagle skipping the Nunavut entry and Bayly Scoffin repping the Yukon. New Brunswick and Quebec women's championships begin this week, with the remaining women's provincial championships going next week.
