![]() Winnipeg's Briane Harris received the decision from the Court of Arbitration for Sport this morning. A year ago in January, Harris Harris tested positive for trace amounts of the prohibited substance Ligandrol, receiving the results in February, just ahead of the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay. Harris challenged the result as being through contact with her partner, presenting her case in the summer in Switzerland in a complicated scenario where it was her duty to prove she did not take the substance herself. An arbitrator for the Switzerland-based court ruled Harris established she bears no fault or negligence for the violation and "no period of ineligibility" is imposed. Harris was part of Kerri Einarson's Gimli foursome, which is competing this week at the WFG Masters in Guelph, the fourth leg of the Grand Slam of Curling. Einarson's lineup currently consists of Val Sweeting at third, Karlee Burgess at second and Krysten Karwacki at lead. Karwacki was Einarson's long-time alternate at the Scotties and moved into Harris' role at the 2024 Scotties. |
