By Connor Simms, Jennifer Armstrong and Tyrel Griffith qualified for the Olympic trials in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, after winning their quarterfinal versus Emilia Gagne/Pierre-Luc Morissette (Quebec) Sunday morning at the Rocky Mountain Curling Classic in Banff, Alberta. Usually, the winner of the event would get the spot, but it was announced by Curling Canada before the start of the season: "If the winners of the tour events already earned a berth in the 2025 Canadian Mixed Doubles Trials, the next highest ranked team from the event will earn the berth" The other three semi-final teams already qualified: Jocelyn Peterman/ Brett Gallant(Chestermere) and Kadriana Lott/Colton Lott(Winnipeg Beach), who grabbed their spots from the 2024 Canadian Nationals with top-three finishes, and Jennifer Jones/Brent Laing (Barrie), who grabbed their spot before the season from the Canadian Mixed Doubles Rankings (CMDR). This left the spot to Armstrong/Griffith. Armstrong/Griffith is the eighth team out of 16 to qualify for the Olympic Trials at the end of December.
