Yoshimura finished 4-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Yoshimura defeated Youbeen Park (Seoul, KOR) 10-4, then won 6-4 against Dilsat Yildiz (Erzurum, TUR) and 5-3 against Seungyoun Ha (Chuncheon, KOR). Yoshimura won 7-6 against Ikue Kitazawa (Nagano, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
