Dustin Kalthoff (Saskatoon, SK) won 6-1 over Ethan Sampson (Chaska, MN) in the Final of the Original 16 Mens Cash Spiel, held November 9 - 11 at the Calgary Curling Club in Calgary, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Kalthoff won 6-3 over Scott Dunnam (Philadelphia, PA) in the semifinals of the Original 16 Mens Cash Spiel in Calgary, Alberta, Canada; and won 5-4 over Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN) in the quarterfinals.
Kalthoff finished 2-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kalthoff lost 9-4 to Jordon McDonald (Winnipeg, MB), then responded with a 7-6 win over Kenan Wipf (Calgary, AB). Kalthoff won 10-6 against Dwayne Romanchuk (Airdrie, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Original 16 Mens Cash Spiel Championship title, Kalthoff earned 26.250 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 15 of the event schedule, Kalthoff did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Kalthoff ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
