Niklas Edin (Karlstad , SWE) finished 6-3 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Edin defeated Lukas Klima (Prague, CZE) 9-6, then went on to lose 6-5 against Yannick Schwaller (Geneve, SUI). Edin responded with a 7-3 win over Joel Retornaz (Cembra, ITA). Edin went on to lose 6-5 against Marc Muskatewitz (Fuessen, GER). Edin responded with a 9-8 win over Magnus Ramsfjell (Trondheim, NOR). Edin won 7-6 against Mathias Genner (Kitzbuehel, AUT), then won 8-3 against Rob Retchless (Preston , ENG) and 9-6 against Wouter Gosgens (Zoetermeer, NED). Edin went on to lose 11-7 against Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.

Edin earned 21.375 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 17 of the event schedule, Edin did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Edin ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
