Anton Hood (Naseby, NZL) finished 2-5 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hood lost 10-2 to John Shuster (Duluth, USA), droppimg another game, 7-5 to Xiao Ming Xu (Beijing, CHN). Hood lost 10-5 to Brad Gushue (St. John's, CAN) where Hood responded with a 9-1 win over JaeBeom Lee (Uiseong, KOR). Hood went on to lose 8-6 against Australia's Steve Johns. Hood lost 9-1 to Shinya Abe (Sapporo, JPN) where Hood responded with a 13-3 win over Ken Hsu (Taipei City, TPE) in their final qualifying round match.

Hood earned 3.750 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 14 of the event schedule, Hood did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Hood ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
