Stuart Thompson (Halifax, NS) lost 6-5 to Jean-Michel Arsenault (Levis, QC) in the Final of the Superstore Monctonian Challenge, held December 8 - 10, 2023 in Moncton, New Brunswick. To advance to the championship game, Thompson won 8-7 over Matthew Manuel (Halifax, NS) in the semifinals of the 2023 Superstore Monctonian Challenge in Moncton, New Brunswick; and won 7-1 over Scott Jones (Moncton, NB) in the quarterfinals.
 
Thompson finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Thompson defeated Rene Comeau (Fredericton, NB) 5-4, then won 4-3 against Arsenault and 5-4 against Tyler Smith (Charlottetown, PEI) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Superstore Monctonian Challenge, Thompson take home 8.250 world rankings points along with the $1,800CDN prize, moving up 9 spots the World Ranking Standings into 83rd place overall with 42.000 total points. Thompson ranks 83rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 24.938 points earned so far this season.
