To advance to the championship game, Sturmay won 9-3 over John Epping (Toronto, ON) in the semifinals of the 2024 Ed Werenich Golden Wrench Classic presented by The Lodge Sasquatch Kitchen in Tempe, Arizona, United States; and won 7-2 over Aaron Sluchinski (Airdrie, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2024 Ed Werenich Golden Wrench Classic presented by The Lodge Sasquatch Kitchen in Tempe, Arizona, United States;
Sturmay finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sturmay defeated Elliott Mansell (Broomfield, CO) 10-2, then went on to lose 8-7 against Dustin Kalthoff (Saskatoon, SK). Sturmay responded with a 7-5 win over Steve Laycock (Swift Current, SK). Sturmay won 6-0 against James Grattan (Oromocto, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Ed Werenich Golden Wrench Classic presented by The Lodge Sasquatch Kitchen Championship title, Sturmay earned 22.500 world rankings points along with the $8,062CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 19th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 12 after improving upon their best so far this season. Sturmay ranks 20th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 120.500 points earned so far this season.
