Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) won 7-6 over James J.Craik (Stirling, SCO) in the Final of the Scottish Curling Championships, held February 6 - 12, 2023 at the Dumfries Ice Bowl in Dumfries, Scotland.
Mouat finished 7-0 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mouat defeated Cameron Bryce (Stirling, SCO) 8-3, then won 7-5 against J.Craik and 9-1 against Orrin Carson (Dumfries, SCO). Mouat won 8-1 against Ross R.Craik (Stirling, SCO), then won 6-5 against Jack Strawhorn (Dumfries, SCO) and 8-0 against Kyle Waddell (Glasgow, SCO). Mouat won 5-1 against Ross Whyte (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Scottish Curling Championships Championship title, Mouat earned 41.250 world rankings points. Mouat move up 4 spots after posting a net gain of 37.5 points improving upon their best 7 results so far this season, ranking 2nd overall with 345.630 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Mouat ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 283.750 points earned so far this season.
