Whyte won 7-4 against Kyle Waddell (Glasgow, SCO), then won 7-6 against Cameron Bryce (Stirling, SCO) and 7-3 against Ross R.Craik (Stirling, SCO). Whyte went on to lose 5-1 against Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
