Ross Whyte (Stirling, SCO) run at the 2023 Scottish Curling Championships came to an end in the semifinals with a 7-6 loss to James J.Craik (Stirling, SCO). of the 2023 Scottish Curling Championships in Dumfries, Scotland, Scotland;
Whyte finished 6-1 in the 8 team Scottish Curling Championships qualifying round, held February 6 - 12, 2023 at the Dumfries Ice Bowl in Dumfries, Scotland. In their opening game, Whyte defeated Orrin Carson (Dumfries, SCO) 6-2, then won 10-3 against Jack Strawhorn (Dumfries, SCO) and 6-5 against J.Craik. Whyte won 7-4 against Kyle Waddell (Glasgow, SCO), then won 7-6 against Cameron Bryce (Stirling, SCO) and 7-3 against Ross R.Craik (Stirling, SCO). Whyte went on to lose 5-1 against Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
Whyte earned 23.375 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Scottish Curling Championships. Whyte gained 6.875 points improving upon their best 7 events, though dropped 1 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 11thplace overall with 213.715 total points. Whyte ranks 10th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 188.375 points earned so far this season.
