Ikue Kitazawa (Nagano, JPN) run at the 2023 ZEH-NOH Japan Curling Championship came to an end in the semifinals with a 7-6 loss to Asuka Kanai (Karuizawa, JPN). of the 2023 ZEH-NOH Japan Curling Championship in Kitami, Japan;
Kitazawa finished 6-2 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kitazawa lost 11-8 to Momoha Tabata (Sapporo, JPN), then responded with a 9-3 win over Miori Nakamura (Aomori, JPN). Kitazawa won 12-2 against Yumi Suzuki (Tokyo, JPN), then won 8-5 against Honoka Sasaki (Kitami, JPN) and 10-4 against Suzuki. Kitazawa went on to lose 8-6 against Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN). Kitazawa responded with a 12-1 win over Riho Zaikan (Hioshima, JPN). Kitazawa won 11-8 against Kanai in their final qualifying round match.
Kitazawa earned 19.125 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the ZEH-NOH Japan Curling Championship. Kitazawa move up 3 spots after posting a net gain of 10.945 points improving upon their best 7 results so far this season, ranking 18th overall with 147.055 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Kitazawa ranks 16th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 138.875 points earned so far this season.
