Young won 9-1 against Dave Thomas (St. John's, NL) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Newfoundland & Labrador Tankard Championship title, Young earned 11.250 world rankings points. For week 26 of the event schedule, Young did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
