Barone4-2 at 2022 World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event

Daina Barone (Riga, LAT) finished 4-2 in the 17-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Barone defeated Adela Walczak (Lodz, POL) 7-3, then went on to lose 8-3 against Lisenka Bomas (Zoetermeer, NED). Barone lost 7-4 to Courtney Smith (Naseby, NZL) where Barone responded with a 11-3 win over Iulia Traila (Bucharest, ROU). Barone won 8-6 against Angelica Perez (Mexico City, MEX), then won 6-4 against Ireland's Alison Fyfe in their final qualifying round match.

Barone earned 6.000 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 19 of the event schedule, Barone did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Barone ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
