John Steski (Ottawa, ON) finished 2-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Steski defeated Ben Pearce (Alliston, ON) 10-2, then won 13-1 against Maureen Broder (Ottawa, ON). Steski went on to lose 6-0 against Matt Dupuis (Cornwall, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Steski earned 1.500 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 16 of the event schedule, Steski did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Steski ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
