Krista McCarville (Thunder Bay , NONT) lost 5-3 to Tabitha Peterson (Chaska, MN) in the Final of the Curl Mesabi Classic, held December 16 - 18, 2022 at the Curl Mesabi in Eveleth, United States. To advance to the championship game, McCarville won 7-6 over Christine McMakin (Fargo, ND) in the semifinals of the 2022 Curl Mesabi Classic in Eveleth, Minnesota, United States; and won 10-5 over Madison Bear (Chaska, MN) in the quarterfinals.

McCarville finished 4-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McCarville defeated Kenna Ponzio (Chaska, MN) 11-3, then won 7-4 against Delaney Strouse (Minneapolis , MN) and 8-1 against Sophia Ryhorchuk (St. Paul, MN). McCarville won 11-1 against Karen Dundore (Rice Lake, WI) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Curl Mesabi Classic, McCarville take home 16.500 world rankings points along with the $5,440CDN prize, moving up 5 spots the World Ranking Standings into 43rd place overall with 84.030 total points. McCarville ranks 86th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 22.125 points earned so far this season.
