Miranda Scheel (Fargo, ND) finished 1-3 in the 10 team CURVE US Open of Curling - Championships qualifying round, held September 23 - 25 at the Four Seasons Curling Club in Blaine, United States. In their opening game, Scheel lost 6-5 to Seungyoun Ha (Chuncheon, KOR), droppimg another game, 7-4 to Christine McMakin (Fargo, ND) where Scheel responded with a 6-4 win over Rachel Workin (Fargo, ND). Scheel went on to lose 8-1 against Sarah Anderson (Chaska, MN) in their final qualifying round match.

Scheel earned 1.125 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 8 of the event schedule, Scheel did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Scheel ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
