Nathan Young (St. John's, NL) won 8-4 over Greg Smith (St. John's, NL) in the Final Young advanced directly to the championship game after finishing first in the preliminary round. of the Newfoundland & Labrador Tankard, held February 8 - 13, 2022 in St. John, Newfoundland / Labrador.

Young finished 8-0 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Young defeated Alex Smith (St. John's, NL) 9-7, then won 6-5 against Ryan McNeil Lamswood (St. John's, NL) and 5-3 against Andrew Symonds (St. John's, NL). Young won 7-4 against Sean O'Leary (St. John's, NL), then won 8-2 against Ken Peddigrew (St. John's, NL) and 7-4 against Dave Thomas (Port aux Basques, NL). Young won 9-4 against Trent Skanes (St. John's, NL), then won 8-3 against Smith in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Newfoundland & Labrador Tankard Championship title, Young earned 12.500 world rankings points, moving up 27 spots the World Ranking Standings into 84th place overall with 46.833 total points. Young ranks 71st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 44.513 points earned so far this season.
