CHAMPION: Wiebe Wins 2021 MCT Championships

Ryan Wiebe (Winnipeg, MB) won 5-4 over Riley Smith (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final To advance to the championship game, Wiebe won 5-2 over Corey Chambers (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2021 MCT Championships in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; and won 7-1 over Braden Calvert (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2021 MCT Championships in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada;
Wiebe finished 3-1 in the 10 team MCT Championships qualifying round, held November 26 - 28, 2021 at the Heather Curling Club in Winnipeg, Canada. In their opening game, Wiebe defeated Kyle McCannell (Winnipeg, MB) 11-3, then won 8-0 against Calvert to advance to a A-Qualifier game where they lost 5-4 against Smith to drop into a B-Qualifier game where they responded with a 7-6 win over Jacques Gauthier (Winnipeg, MB) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the MCT Championships Championship title, Wiebe earned 24.278 world rankings points along with the $1,600CDN first prize cheque. Wiebe move up 10 spots after posting a net gain of 22.788 points improving upon their best 3 results so far this season, ranking 41st overall with 89.172 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Wiebe ranks 43rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 45.266 points earned so far this season.
