Koana finished 3-0 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Koana defeated Japan's Ayako Tanimoto 11-2, then won 8-1 against Japan's Asami Sasada and 14-0 against Ayumi Yokota (Chiba, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Kanto Curling Championships Championship title, Koana earned 6.188 world rankings points, moving up 6 spots the World Ranking Standings into 43rd place overall with 80.640 total points. Koana ranks 65th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 37.344 points earned so far this season.
