Deis finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Deis lost 5-3 to James Owens (Saskatoon, SK), then responded with a 7-4 win over Brett Behm (Regina, SK). Deis won 5-4 against Kirkpatrick, then won 7-3 against Jacobson in their final qualifying round match.
