Kovaleva won 8-7 against Kerri Einarson (Gimli, CAN), then won 8-6 against Marie Turmann (Tallinn, EST) and 7-5 against Madeleine Dupont (Hvidovre, DEN). Kovaleva won 6-5 against Sayaka Yoshimura (Sapporo, JPN), then won 8-4 against Yu Han (Beijing, CHN) and 10-8 against Hasselborg. Kovaleva went on to lose 7-5 against Anna Kubeskova (Prague, CZE). Kovaleva lost 8-6 to Tirinzoni where Kovaleva responded with a 9-8 win over Eve Muirhead (Stirling, SCO). Kovaleva won 7-3 against Tabitha Peterson (Chaska, USA) in their final qualifying round match.
