In their opening game, Sturmay lost 7-2 to Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB), droppimg another game, 5-4 to Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) where Sturmay responded with a 9-4 win over Sebastien Robillard (Maple Ridge, BC). Sturmay won 8-1 against Wylie Eden (Kelowna, BC), then won 8-7 against Steve Laycock (Vernon, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
