Hamish Gallacher (Dumfries, SCO) lost 5-3 to James Craik (Forfar, SCO) in the Final of the Scottish Curling Junior Championships, held January 22 - 26, 2020 at the Curl Aberdeen in Aberdeen, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Gallacher won 9-3 over Callum Kinnear (Perth, SCO) in the semifinals of the 2020 Scottish Curling Junior Championships in Aberdeen, Scotland, Scotland;
Gallacher finished 6-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gallacher defeated Jacob Holder (Moray, SCO) 10-4, then won 7-3 against Ross Craik (Forfar, SCO) and 4-3 against Kinnear. Gallacher went on to lose 5-3 against Craik. Gallacher responded with a 10-6 win over Bill Turner (Dumfries, SCO). Gallacher won 7-3 against Orrin Carson (Dumfries, SCO), then won 14-2 against Gavin Cameron (Moray, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Scottish Curling Junior Championships, Gallacher take home 7.838 world rankings points. For week 27 of the event schedule, Gallacher did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Gallacher ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
