Daniel Magnusson (Karlstad, SWE) won 6-5 over Lucien Lottenbach (Zug, SUI) in the Final of the Latvia International Challenger, held October 24 - 27, 2019 in Tukums, Latvia. To advance to the championship game, Magnusson won 9-3 over Jermu Pollanen (Hyvinkaa, FIN) in the semifinals of the 2019 Latvia International Challenger in Tukums, Latvia; and won 6-3 over Borys Jasiecki (Sopot, POL) in the quarterfinals.
 
Magnusson finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Magnusson defeated Jotham Sugden (Kent, ENG) 6-5, then won 7-5 against Vadim Raev (Moscow, RUS). Magnusson went on to lose 7-2 against Ilya Shalamitski (Minsk, BLR). Magnusson responded with a 6-4 win over Pollanen in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Latvia International Challenger Championship title, Magnusson earned 13.451 world rankings points along with the $2,026CDN first prize cheque, moving up 42 spots the World Ranking Standings into 115th place overall with 32.816 total points. Magnusson ranks 84th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 18.652 points earned so far this season.
