To advance to the championship game, Thompson won 6-3 over Jamie Murphy (Halifax, NS) in the semifinals
 
Thompson finished 2-2 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Thompson defeated Kevin Ouellette (Halifax, NS) 8-4, then won 9-2 against Brent MacDougall (Halifax, NS). Thompson went on to lose 8-2 against Matthew Manuel (Halifax, NS). Thompson lost 6-5 to Chad Stevens (Truro, NS) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the The Curling Store Cashspiel Championship title, Thompson earned 19.828 world rankings points along with the $3,600CDN first prize cheque, moving up 13 spots the World Ranking Standings into 39th place overall with 107.316 total points.
