Bottcher finished 8-3 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Bottcher lost 7-6 to Jamie Murphy (Halifax, NS), then responded with a 9-2 win over Jamie Koe (Yellowknife, NT). Bottcher won 9-8 against Sean Geall (Kelowna, BC), then won 9-2 against Greg Smith (St. John's, NL) and 7-5 against Thomas Scoffin (Whitehorse, YK). Bottcher won 10-7 against Gushue, then won 9-2 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB). Bottcher went on to lose 8-6 against Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK). Bottcher responded with a 8-2 win over Reid Carruthers (West St. Paul, MB). Bottcher went on to lose 9-7 against Epping. Bottcher responded with a 9-3 win over Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, NONT) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Tim Hortons Brier, Bottcher take home 57.371 world rankings points. Bottcher move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 39.569 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 13th overall with 428.851 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Bottcher ranks 7th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 272.902 points earned so far this season.
