Alina Paetz (Zurich, SUI) qualified for the 2017 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1 playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 5-3 against Eve Muirhead (Perth , SCO).
 
Paetz finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Paetz defeated Sherry Middaugh (Coldwater, ON) 6-4, then won 7-3 against Casey Scheidegger (Lethbridge, AB) and 8-0 against Allison Flaxey (Caledon, ON). Paetz won 8-6 against Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
