To advance to the championship game, Hastings won 5-3 over Ontario's Chrissy Cadorin in the semifinals of the 2016 Listowel Women's Classic in Listowel, Ontario, Canada; and won 4-3 over Ontario's Natalie Hughes in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Listowel Women's Classic in Listowel, Ontario, Canada;
 
Hastings finished 3-2 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hastings defeated Stephanie LeDrew (Sarnia, ON) 7-1, then went on to lose 8-6 against Ontario's Chrissy Cadorin. Hastings lost 5-2 to Ontario's Danielle Inglis where Hastings responded with a 7-2 win over Katie Moreau (Penetanguishene, ON). Hastings won 7-6 against Susan Froud (Innisfil, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Listowel Women's Classic, Hastings take home 16.423 world rankings points along with the $1,400CDN prize, moving up 7 spots the World Ranking Standings into 51st place overall with 97.671 total points. Hastings ranks 69th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 34.567 points earned so far this season.
