Wang finished 4-1 in the 24 team Colonial Square Ladies Classic qualifying round, held September 16 - 19, 2016 at the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon, Canada. In their opening game, Wang lost 5-4 to Jolene Campbell (Regina, SK), then responded with a 5-4 win over Kim Schneider (Kronau, SK). Wang won 6-5 against Stefanie Lawton (Saskatoon, SK), then won 8-1 against Campbell and 5-4 against Val Sweeting (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Colonial Square Ladies Classic Championship title, Wang earned 60.920 world rankings points along with the $11,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 42 spots the World Ranking Standings into 38th place overall with 89.784 total points. Wang ranks 5th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 61.999 points earned so far this season.
