Colonial Square Ladies Classic qualifying round, held September 16 - 19, 2016 at the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon, Canada. In their opening game, Aitken defeated Michelle Englot (Winnipeg, MB) 5-4, then went on to lose 6-4 against Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN). Aitken lost 9-2 to Chantelle Eberle (Regina, SK) where Aitken responded with a 10-0 win over Kelsey Rocque (Edmonton, AB). Aitken went on to lose 6-5 against Robyn Silvernagle (North Battleford, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Aitken earned 2.611 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 13 spots the World Ranking Standings into 140th place overall with 10.023 total points. Aitken ranks 58th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 2.611 points earned so far this season.
