Edin finished 3-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Edin defeated Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) 7-5, then won 7-4 against Carruthers. Edin went on to lose 5-2 against Smith. Edin responded with a 6-3 win over William Lyburn (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
